Ms. Jenny CHENG

「人不是問題，問題才是問題。」是敘事治療裡最主要的概念。Jenny在處理於【基督教新生協會】中的個案時，深深感受到以尊重和關懷的心態去實踐這概念，確實對重塑個案創傷性的故事及支援個案開啟不一樣的選擇帶來更多可能性及彈性。作為敘事社群的一員，Jenny和意念相同的同儕曾共同籌辦專為糖尿病病人而設的敘事治療支援小組，透過建立群組間的感染力和支持為病人轉化獨自面對糖尿病時的創傷及壓力，組員亦逐漸應知到自身在日常應對糖尿病時的心理復原力，從而走出創傷，超越傷痛。經過與深受不同形式創傷的人們互動後， Jenny相信人們在遭受苦難時，依然能感受快樂，亦能心存冀望。

"The person is not the problem, the problem is the problem” (Michael White and David Epston). Jenny engages this ideology with cases (practice over 200 hours) in Christian New Life Association which caters in-patient rehabilitation to the male adult with substance abuse since 2017. Taking the traumatic stories with respect and care, people view the problem in another perspective and make a better choice for their life. As an active member of Narrative Community, she and her peers has developed diabetes patient counselling group. Besides being a tutor in several Narrative Therapy introductory courses, Jenny continues to work with adolescents and aging adults on life issues under the umbrella of Community Matters in practice.
